At the Sky

I remember fresh horizons
I remember brand new starts
I remember empty promises delivered to my heart
And vague remnants of something I used to know inside
Finding I have nothing sacred left to quantify

Once a piece of something special
Once a man of destiny
As I raised my head in disbelief, this old man said to me
“Son, you’re going nowhere, hide your vulnerabilities
And you won’t need anyone in life to set you free”

And all these walls I’ve built inside have left me nowhere left to hide
And all these problems I can’t face have decimated all my pride
To think that once I had a dream, to think that once I had my time
As I look back upon this scene, it’s left me shouting at the sky
At the sky

I remember thinking over
All the times I crawled back in
I remember opportunities I cast into the wind
And vague remnants of something that used to make it real
Leaving me with nothing sacred left for me to feel

And all these walls I’ve built inside have left me nowhere left to hide
And all these problems I can’t face have decimated all my pride
To think that once I had a dream, to think that once I had my time
As I look back upon this scene, it’s left me shouting at the sky
At the sky

I’m trying to find something I used to know inside, Finding I have nothing sacred left to quantify.

And all these walls I’ve built inside have left me nowhere left to hide
And all these problems I can’t face have decimated all my pride
To think that once I had a dream, to think that once I had my time
As I look back upon this scene, it’s left me shouting at the sky
At the sky

Shouting at the sky
