I See Ghosts

As I wander all alone
Through these days of monochrome
Try to shelter from this cold
But it chills me to the bone

Fixating, blaming change that crept up on you
Embracing this decay we’re falling into

As I wonder through these times
To escape the reasons why
And I see the end in sight
It sends shivers down my spine

Self-hating, decimating what’s inside you
Stagnating, terminating all we’ve been through

I see ghosts all around empty buildings fall apart
Shadowed faces turn away but they never stray too far
And the grip chokes a life clinging on to futures passed
And the days turn to grey and the night time never starts

Now the stillness becomes old
As inertia takes its toll
And nostalgia has its day
And the spirit fades away

Fixating, blaming change that crept up on you
Embracing this decay we’re falling into

I see ghosts all around empty buildings fall apart
Shadowed faces turn away but they never stray too far
And the grip chokes a life clinging on to futures passed
And the days turn to grey and the night time never starts
